The Youth and Family Hostel Villach is the ideal base for school groups wishing to explore the Dobratsch Nature Park. With its diverse flora and fauna, stunning viewpoints, and a variety of hiking trails, the Dobratsch offers countless opportunities for exciting nature experiences.
Accommodation & Meals:
The Youth Hostel Villach has 125 beds in comfortable shared rooms, all equipped with shower and WC. Accompanying teachers or group leaders stay in single or double rooms.
Catering includes a rich breakfast buffet, varied lunch and dinner menus, and packed lunches on request.
Leisure & Facilities:
On-site and nearby, a wide range of facilities are available:
- Indoor climbing hall, fitness room, multi-purpose sports area
- Sauna, table tennis, TV and common rooms
- Seminar rooms & event hall (for project work or evening programs)
- Free Wi-Fi throughout the building
- Tennis courts and sports halls within walking distance (fee applies)
Self-Organized Program:
Schools can plan their Dobratsch adventure according to their own preferences:
- Hikes to viewpoints such as Rosskogel, 10er Nock, and Gamsblick
- Observation of rare plants, birds, and other wildlife
- Exploration of mountain and forest ecosystems, including fossils and geological features
- Outdoor nature-based games, team-building, and movement activities
- Optional excursions to Carinthian lakes or nearby towns such as Villach and Klagenfurt
