Exploring Carinthia has never been easier! From 1 November 2026, our guests can use almost the entire public transport network in Carinthia at no additional cost with a valid regional guest card.
Whether you're planning a trip to Lake Wörthersee, a sightseeing tour of Klagenfurt or a scenic train journey through Carinthia's mountain landscapes – your guest card gives you the freedom to explore the region during your stay.
The card is valid for regional and city buses as well as ÖBB and WESTbahn local and long-distance trains within Carinthia. S-Bahn connections to Lienz and selected shuttle services are also included.
Which Guest Card Is Available in Each Region?
Different regional guest cards are available at our four youth and family hostels:
- Klagenfurt: Wörthersee Pluscard
- Velden Cap Wörth: Wörthersee Pluscard
- Villach: Erlebnis CARD
- Heiligenblut: Hohe Tauern National Park Region Guest Card
Your guest card also serves as a public transport ticket and is valid from the time of issue on your arrival day until the end of public transport services on your departure day.
Good to Know
From 1 November 2026, a new uniform overnight stay tax of €4.50 per person liable for the tax and per night will also apply throughout Carinthia. Children, young people and certain other groups are exempt from this tax.
The free guest mobility scheme does not apply to school groups. Bicycle transport, certain special transport services and journeys to Carinthia from outside the province are also excluded.
